FAQs
How do I get a library card to use with CloudLibrary?
Stop by the library to apply for a card or fill out our online form here.
Which devices are compatible with CloudLibrary?
The CloudLibrary website lists current compatible devices at the bottom of the Overview page.
How do I access the collection?
Once you have the app on your device, sign in to your CloudLibrary account. You will see the ebook and audiobook collection. Choose an item, click on the cover image, and click on either “Borrow” or “Listen.” You can filter your choices to see only “Available Now” titles, ebooks, and/or audiobooks. You can also go to “Settings” to make changes to your account, add an email to receive notifications when a title on hold is available, and in order to log out of your account.
How many items can I check out?
Three items may be checked out at one time.
How long can I keep an item?
Audiobooks and ebooks check out for 20 days.
Can I return an item early?
Yes. You can do this by going to “My Books” to return the item.
Can I renew my items?
No. This is dictated by the publisher, rather than the Jackson Memorial Library or the CloudLibrary. However, the items can be checked out again if it has no holds. CloudLibrary will remember where you left off.
Are there any fines?
No. At the end of the checkout period, the book is automatically returned, and is no longer on your account. If you download a book to your device, the book will expire after the due date, and you will no longer be able to access it.
Can I keep track of my reading history?
Yes. Your reading history is automatically saved. However, you can choose to opt out or delete your history under “My Books.”
Can I save my bookmarks?
Yes. Bookmarks are automatically saved in CloudLibrary. When you check out a previously checked out book, your bookmark will reappear.
How do holds work?
When you place a hold, you will see the number of days left until the item will be available. Up to 3 items may be placed on hold at a time. You can set up email notifications through “My Books” under “Settings.” When the item becomes available, a message will appear in your “Message Center” informing you that the title is available. You have 3 days to check out the title before the hold expires.
How do I cancel a hold?
Go to “My Books” to find your holds and remove any items on hold you no longer with to have.
