Jackson Memorial Library welcomes donations of good quality children’s books, novels, and mysteries, as well as audio CDs and DVDs. Donations may be added to the library’s collection, sold at our ongoing book sale or in our annual Book Fair.
Condition: Books must be free of mildew, mold, and dirt. They should not exhibit excessive spine damage, have missing pages, or be missing the covers. Books cannot have water damage. Any books donated in this condition will be discarded.
Newspapers and magazines may be placed in our book tent for others to access.
These items cannot be accepted and should be recycled:
Vintage and antique books
Diet books
Textbooks
Activity books and workbooks (such as coloring books)
Annuals and yearbooks
Audio Cassettes, VHS tapes, LP records, and computer software
Books published by magazines (such as Readers Digest Condensed and Time-Life Books)
Encyclopedias and dictionaries
Case law and procedural books
Dated reference material (over 5 years old)
Bibles
Free copies, examination copies, or advanced reading copies
Journals and periodicals
