The Search Committee is excited to invite you to meet our three finalists for Library Director. Please join us March 4, 5, and 6 at 3:15 in the Community Room of the Library. We will provide a hard copy excerpt of each candidate’s resume on the day of each visit. Each Finalist will spend a full day on campus, meeting with Sharon, Rebecca, Board members, library volunteers, visiting the school, and observing and interacting with school classes and the Power of Play children.

The committee is pleased to report that we had 36 expressions of interest in the position, with 18 completed applications, including eight with strong library credentials and several with interesting transferable skills and experience. These included both local and wider Maine candidates and applicants from Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, New  York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. In almost every case we had a personal conversation and talked with at least two references. We looked particularly carefully at the 13 candidates who live locally or have local connections. After digesting all this information, we invited eight candidates to interview as semi-finalists, and six followed through on February 22 – 23.

Now we need your help. Ideally you will be able to make time to join us for a reception for each candidate at 3:15: Tuesday March 4, Wednesday March 5, Thursday March 6. The reception will run until 4:30. If you meet a candidate, you will receive a feedback form so you can provide the Search Committee with valuable input about each candidate. If you can’t meet all three candidates, please come at least once so you can be part of the process. Thank you!
